HYDERABAD: With shortage of power affecting agriculture in the state, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said solar pumpsets would be provided to farmers in a phased manner.
The government constituted a four-member committee on Friday to study about the need for procuring solar pumpsets and financial implications of the same. The members include: Finance secretary Nagi Reddy, energy secretary SK Joshi, agriculture secretary Poonam Malakondaiah and industries secretary Pradeep Chandra. In a meeting with representatives of Kirloskar Limited, the chief minister said about one lakh solar punmpsets would be installed in the first year.
